We engage the Ottawa (and surrounding area) photographic community by creating accessible peer-reviewed education and promotion opportunities for all, with particular consideration for underrepresented groups, as we aim to be a rich, diverse, and vibrant organization.
We work toward this by publishing our monthly zine, sharing the work of local artists via social media and exhibitions (both physical and virtual), presenting affordable workshops, offering services and equipment to those in need, and including as broad a range of artists as possible in these endeavours.
To follow through with the latter, and acknowledge the inherent challenges some face, we enable those who are part of priority groups to identify themselves when submitting their work. These groups include:
- Indigenous
- Black
- Racialized
- LGBTQIA2S+
- With disability (visible or not)
