Membership

Obviously you found us because you’re interested in analog photography and community, but are you interested in becoming truly involved? As a member of DIFTG, you have the opportunity to guide our organization and further your artistic career. We’re looking to build stronger relationships within and beyond our network through increased opportunities for all. If you want to give back to the Ottawa film photography community, let’s talk!

By becoming a member, you get:

• To shape the future of DIFTG and vote at our Annual General Meeting
• Instagram takeover and curation opportunities
• Website feature opportunity (news to come!)
• Event and workshop hosting opportunities
• Volunteer opportunities
• Advanced notice for events, calls for submissions, etc.
• Access to our Slack, our internal network
• Our organizational support for your projects (ie. making your own zine, putting on an exhibition, etc.)
• The opportunity to become a director (send us a message if you’re interested!)

To become a member, there’s no fee, but we just ask that you:

• Live within our catchment area
• Have a subscription, and maintain it throughout your membership 
• Participate in our programming

However, our mandate prioritizes inclusivity. If you want to be a member but don’t have a subscription, or you live just outside of our catchment area, we’ll talk about it and see if we can make an exception.

Il est clair que tu nous as découverts parce que tu as un intérêt pour la photographie argentique et sa communauté, mais es-tu intéressé.e à l’idée de devenir un.e membre impliqué.e? En tant que membre de DIFTG, tu as l’occasion de guider notre organisation et de pousser tes aspirations artistiques. Nous cherchons à bâtir des relations plus robustes au sein et au-delà de notre réseau en créant plus d’opportunités pour tous. Si tu as envie de contribuer à la communauté de photographie argentique d’ Ottawa, discutons-en!

Devenir membre a de nombreux avantages:

• Le pouvoir de guider le futur de DIFTG et de voter à notre Réunion Générale Annuelle
• La chance de faire un “Instagram takeover” ou d’être commissaire artistique
• La chance de se promouvoir sur notre site web (annonce à venir!)
• L’organisation d’événements ou ateliers
• Des opportunités de bénévolat
• Un accès en avant-première de nos événements, appels aux soumissions, etc.
• L’accès au réseau interne “Slack” de notre organisme
• Notre soutien pour tes projets personnels (par exemple, créer ton propre zine, mettre en oeuvre une exposition, etc.)
• L’occasion de devenir directeur/trice (envoyez-nous un message si ça t’intéresse!)

Il n’a pas de frais pour devenir membre, mais nous demandons que tu:

• Habites dans notre zone d’opérations
• Maintiens un abonnement au cours de ton adhésion en tant que membre
• Participes à notre programmation

Par contre, notre mandat met l’inclusivité en priorité. Donc, si tu veux devenir membre mais tu n’est pas abonné.e, ou que tu habites just dehors de notre zone d’opérations, on en parlera pour voir si on peut faire une exception.
